Audience thrilled by the multi-hour performance of the Cambi Klapa

Last night, on the Summer Stage in Kotor, as part of the KotorArt Festival, the Cambi Klapa performed. They are one of the most renowned and finest Dalmatian klapas.

Tenors Eduard Šegota, Jozo Delaš and Duško Britvić, baritone Mislav Biočina, bass-baritone Hrvoje Lozančić and bass Dino Šimera thrilled the audience with their performance of klapa songs and covers of Dalmatian pop songs, which is what makes them recognized not only by fans of a cappella music but a wider audience as well. Tomislav Šošić was at the piano. Some of the songs that could be heard last night are Cesarica, Lipa Moja, Trag u Beskraju, Odlazak, Jedna Rič, Moja Poslednja i Prva Ljubavi, Sad Kada Došla si, and more.

The highly demanding arrangements and carefully chosen repertoire made the Klapa take the audience on a journey through Dalmatia and Mediterranean melodies from the very beginning of the concert, eliciting enthusiasm among the crowd. Together with the Klapa, the audience sang along until the last verse. With standing ovations, the audience greeted Klapa Cambi,  who performed the famous song Bokeljska Noć as an encore. This song, with lyrics by Maja Perfiljeva and performed by Vice Vukov, won the famous Split Festival of Popular Music in 1967 and represents an indispensable part of the repertoire of every celebration in Boka.

“It was fantastic. This is a very pleasant ambience for us. We would like to have more stages like this. Kotor is a special place for performances, and we always receive a warm welcome here. The audience knows what to expect from us, and it is a great responsibility and honor to sing in front of such an audience, and that feeling is carried in our hearts”, said baritone Mislav Biočina after the concert.

“We would like to thank the representatives of the new tourist attraction of Montenegro, the Kotor-Lovćen cable car, the general sponsor of the Kotor Cable Car concert series, in which we had the opportunity to enjoy last night’s phenomenal performance by the Cambi Klapa. At the beginning of August, as part of the same series, we are looking forward to concerts of Urban & 4 and the Vlatko Stefanovski Trio”, emphasized the festival’s PR team.
