It is a publication that covers the period of 12 centuries of existence of this association, presented in a printed edition, in a print run of 500 copies, with rich illustrations.

In addition to the author, the speakers at the book lounch were Ratimir Martinović, general and artistic director of the KotoArt Festival, Andro Radulović, director of the Maritime Museum of Montenegro in Kotor, and Slavko Dabinović, a retired librarian.

“At the Conference of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Heritage of UNESCO, on December 16, 2021, a decision was made to inscribe the Navy on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, as the first such asset of Montenegro,” the festival team reminds.

Sbutega pointed out that Pjesan, a poetic text by Pavo Kamenarović, which is harmonized with the music that accompanies the Kolo of the Boka Navy, emphasizes the idea of national and religious unity:

“In the kolo, all together
Hand in hand we’re stood
Showing once and forever
The harmony of brotherhood;
Passed on by our fathers
The wise motto we hold true
And if God is willing,
Our sons will do so too.”

“With this publication, the festival contributes to the preservation and improvement of our valuable cultural heritage and tradition. The publication of the book was supported by the Ministry of Culture and Media, the Municipality of Kotor, the International Festival KotorArt Don Branko's Music Days, the Maritime Museum of Montenegro in Kotor and Crnogorska Plovidba Join Stock Company Kotor”, concludes the announcement.
