HERITAGE REVISITED: How to Create an Industry on a Potter’s Wheel

Project title: HERITAGE REVISITED: How to Create an Industry on a Potter’s Wheel

Clay is a simple material whose usage can be traced to ancient times across different traditions and cultures. The idea is to use “clay on a potter’s wheel” to explore the creative, cultural, and industrial potential of the local heritage.
Pottery can be used to revive interest in traditional crafts as well as a creative medium for revisiting the cultural and historical potential of the Kotor area.
The project proposes old craft(s) revitalisation, education, open-air demonstrations, exhibitions, production of unique pieces that preserve the traditional value of the technique, revisiting of local heritage in an artistic context, opening of possibilities for self-employment as well as joint-creative projects.
The project will promote a traditional craft while using the same craft to promote heritage and create new value.
