Tribidabo, an ensemble of saxophone, accordion, and guitar, combines music from all over the world in their artistic expression, from South America to the Middle East, from European classical to folk music. The prominent features of tango, Klezmer, and Balkan music fused with jazz create the interesting and recognizable sound color that this Styrian trio nurtures and explores. Matthias Meister, Bernd Kohlhofer, and Simon Reithofer contribute to this with their skillful playing, combining a rich variety of sound and melodic patterns into the stylistically logical and appealing timbre the ensemble has become known for. The musicians were born in a small village near Graz, but studied in different parts of Austria before founding the trio in 2013. When it comes to styles or genres, they initially nurtured Klezmer and tango, but soon expanded their interests to music from such distant, various, and exotic origins as Mongolia, Afghanistan, Iceland, and Senegal, among others, becoming standout players in the world music genre. Among their latest projects, the ensemble has made arrangements of lullabies and children’s songs from all over the world.
