The Montenegro Youth Orchestra (MYO), which prioritizes members and audiences of younger generations, was founded in 2018 by the Association of Young Artists of Montenegro. The following year, the MYO served as the representative of Montenegro in the European Orchestra Federation. The Orchestra consists of young Montenegrin musicians who have mostly launched their musical careers abroad and who, gathered around the idea of a national youth ensemble, strive to achieve common goals in the field of art and culture. The Orchestra’s repertoire consists of well-known pieces of classical music, contemporary art music by national and international composers, and artistic projects based on a fusion of theater and classical music. The Montenegrin Youth Orchestra has premiered several pieces of contemporary music, while for the composition Nocturne for solo violin, orchestra, and electronics they recorded the first concert music video of its kind in Montenegro. The Orchestra has participated in events such as the European Heritage Days, the 19th Young Artists Festival (Montenegro), the Humanitarian Gala Concert (Montenegro), and the multimedia exhibition Eros, krv i svetlost [Eros, Blood and Light].
