The Boka Navy, Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, is a monograph in which the author Antun Sbutega analyzes the development of the Boka Navy from its founding in the Middle Ages to the present day, referencing a large number of documents, many previously unknown, as well as other sources in several foreign languages. The monograph provides an overview of political, economic, cultural, and other relevant changes in Kotor and Boka, where this ancient institution has been operating for more than twelve centuries. Bearing in mind that maritime affairs have always been activities of an international nature, the book follows maritime changes on a global scale which have affected the history of the Navy, particularly focusing on developments in the Mediterranean and the Adriatic Seas. The monograph examines the influence of the Boka Navy on the social and economic development of Kotor and Boka, especially its direct and indirect influence on the development of tangible and intangible culture, as well as the development of the cultural heritage of the Navy itself, which was inscribed in 2021 on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, as the first such cultural asset in Montenegro. The book contains an extensive bibliography of works on this topic, a revised list of admirals and vice admirals, and photographs illustrating the rich past and cultural heritage of the Boka Navy. Following modern scientific approaches, the monograph is written in a clear and understandable style, and is geared to both professionals and the general public
