The Music Academy in Cetinje was founded in 1980 in Titograd as one of the faculties of the Veljko Vlahović University of Montenegro.  Today, its headquarters are in Cetinje. As the largest and most important educational music institution in Montenegro, the Music Academy, following modern trends in music pedagogy and achievements in the field of music, educates young, high-quality professionals, enabling them to contribute to the development of their country, region, and beyond in accordance with contemporary European and global trends. The mission of the Music Academy is to spread and improve knowledge, learning, and skills with full openness towards cooperation with similar institutions, among others, and entities from immediate and wider environs. The Music Academy offers bachelor’s, specialist, master’s, and PhD studies to students in departments such as General Music Pedagogy and Conducting, as well as studies in various instruments within the performing arts – Piano, String and Wind Instruments, Guitar, and Accordion.
